Travel Information
GETTING THERE
San Miguel de Allende does not have its own airport, but there are two convenient options nearby:
Querétaro International Airport (QRO) - 1 hour drive
Guanajuato International Airport (BJX) - 1.5 hour drive
We recommend booking transportation via a private driver from the airport to San Miguel de Allende. Below are vendors recommendations:
Juan Jose via WhatsApp +52 415 177 6738
Rodrigo via WhatsApp +52 415 139 7128
Rolando Rivelino via WhatsApp +52 415 566 9209
HOW TO GET AROUND
San Miguel de Allende is best explored on foot, though visitors with mobility issues may find the cobblestone streets and hilly terrain challenging. Taxis and ride-hailing apps (like Uber) are readily available and affordable. Car rental is not generally recommended, as parking is limited and many streets are narrow or pedestrian-only.

Our Story
For those of you who don’t know, Jess and Hank matched on Bumble in November 2018, which doesn’t sound romantic, but even the algorithm of a hugely popular dating app requires a little bit of fate. Right?
If Jess wasn’t down in Marina del Rey visiting her sister, and Hank wasn’t in Venice beach with his friend Nick, it’s unlikely their digital paths would have ever crossed. Even so, most dating app conversations die faster than a carnival goldfish brought home on a hot summer day. However, they clicked from the moment Jess said “Hola”, and by the end of that day not only had they exchanged numbers, they also jokingly promised this was the beginning of their long distance relationship.
However, what they didn’t know is that their long distance quip couldn’t have been more true. Jess came back down from Bakersfield to LA for their first date, and two weeks later Hank made it up to Bakersfield. They made living apart work as they would take turns traveling over the Grapevine to spend weekends together. In 2020 Hank started working from home due to Covid. Instead of weekends together, Jess, Hailey, Hank and Capi were now spending weeks together creating their family. After calling LA home his entire life, Hank made the surprisingly easy decision to move to Bakersfield.
Not even the dirty Bakersfield air or scorching summers could slow down Jess and Hank’s love for each other, and in August 2024 they got engaged in Santa Barbara. Naturally a relationship as beautiful as theirs would require a city just as majestic to join in marriage.
It is impossible to put into words how much we truly appreciate all of your love and support over the last six years. So instead of trying to put it into words, we decided to give you an excuse to escape to San Miguel de Allende for a weekend of fun, food, dancing, drinks, and unforgettable memories.
